Ten More Sleeps

Sounds of Christmas in the air
Children playing everywhere
Men walk, some lost, some found
Ten more sleeps till Christmas day
Sure seems so far away
Church bells fill the air
Snow is falling all around
Families starting to gather round
Eight more sleeps till Christmas day
Eight more sleeps
Six, five, four, soon there’ll
Be no more
He’ll be coming to our door
So, my child, dream some more
And sleep safe while eagles soar
Now the air is cold and clear
The time is near
Only six more sleeps, then families
Unite to sing on Christmas night
Xmas trees around the world
Shine and glitter in the night
Children sleeping, some not in beds
Dreaming of visions and delights
Of Christmas night
Four more sleeps till Christmas
Eight reindeer gathering around the sleigh
Soon Santa’s on his way
And He was born that day
Now the star shines so bright
With its guiding light
To remind us of that night
Now only two more sleeps till Christmas day
Let us pray for the world today
Sheep are gathered in their flocks
Soldiers watch the midnight clock
On their borders watch
The lone star shine so bright
There’s just one more sleep
Until the day we call Christmas Day
Children sleeping in the night
Waiting for the morning light
Midnight prayers said tonight
For peace on earth this Christmas night
There’s no more sleeps till Christmas day
Last sleep till Christmas day
Children awake on Christmas morn
Some tattered, some torn
Some from beds that are warm
All to greet Christmas morn
The day He was born
Now that there’s no more sleeps
Till Christmas Day
Just hopes and dreams
That someday the world
Will be at peace on Christmas Day
So bless us one and all
Big and small, that we stand tall
Listen to our brothers’ call
And hope for peace on earth
So we all can count the sleeps
Till the next Christmas night
The clouds that brought the snow that lay all around
Gave way to the stars that shone so bright on this special night.
Everyone slept while the moon shone its light
On the silent snow of white.
Christmas Day the sun shone bright
On the land of snow so white.
A day of peace and life made
All forgive the year of strife.
The rest of the year is spent in a maze.
But it all comes to one on Christmas morn.
Man may be brave and bold in rain and cold.
But they all give thanks to the one above
On Christmas morn.
So rest your soul at peace this special day
And give thanks that the world
Has made it through the year
To this special day.
