Plus, it’s only a 25-minute drive to Aberdeen. Ellon is a perfect all-around pleaser, but buying a house can still be quite pricey. While Banchory is the most expensive on this list, Ellon comes second. Make sure to save and know your options before falling in love with this beautiful town.

Inverurie

In between Banchory and Ellon lies Inverurie. This town has the biggest population on this list, and it’s clear why so many people want to call Inverurie home.

There’s so much to do and see in Inverurie – and there’s something for everyone. If you’re a fan of bowls, you can play a game at Garioch Indoor Bowling Centre. For the young ones, or those young at heart, you can jump off some energy at the trampoline park. Or, for those with furry friends, you can go for a stroll in one of the many parks in the area.

The drive to Aberdeen comes in just over 30 minutes. However, Inverurie has its own train station and regular trains go to Aberdeen. This journey only takes 20 minutes, making the commute simple and easy if you work in the big city.
